International Professional Security Association (IPSA)
The IPSA is a membership association for individuals and companies working in the fire and security sector.
The Association was formed over 60 years ago to ensure professionalism in the management of security operations. IPSA as an established and recognised worldwide professional organisation, provides, in accordance with growing demand, a specialised unrivalled service to industry/commerce.
IPSA offers membership to those employed in the security sector and to those companies who supply services or materials used in connection with Fire & Security activities.
City Security Council
The City Security Council was originally established as a collective of premier security companies based in the City of London. The groups key objective was to work in close collaboration and support of the City of London Police and City of London Corporation in times of crisis or when any significant major event took place in the city.
Since its inception the group has grown considerably in membership and its remit has also evolved. The CSC is now recognised as a leading and authoritative voice of the security industry and one that represents the interests of thousands of security officers.
Police Crime Prevention Initiatives (PCPI)
We are a police-owned organisation that works on behalf of the Police Service throughout the UK to deliver a wide range of crime prevention and police demand reduction initiatives.
We act as a catalyst to bring organisations together to reduce crime and the fear of crime, and create safer communities. Our partners include the Home Office, Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, Local Authorities, British and European standards authorities, trade associations, test houses, certification bodies, the construction industry, manufacturers and many other organisations. This provides PCPI with the ability to influence and support the wider police service.
ONVIF
Founded in 2008 by Axis Communications, Bosch Security Systems and Sony Corporation, ONVIF has a robust member base on six continents. ONVIF membership is open to manufacturers, software developers, consultants, system integrators, end users, and other interest groups that wish to participate in ONVIF activities.
Skills for security
Skills for Security is a Grade 2, Good, Ofsted national provider, with a Technical Training Centre in Warrington. We hold direct claims status with two Awarding bodies and a direct contract with the ESFA. We are a part of the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) and a not-for-profit organisation.
As the leading Apprenticeship Training Provider in the UK, we are proud to play a key role in Apprenticeship Training across the Electronic Fire & Security sector across the North West and beyond: through a range of mixed delivery methods, we have a reach like no other across the whole of England.
We are now able to offer fire and security apprenticeship training in four locations across England; Warrington, Birmingham, Bradford and Southport. These innovative partnerships were developed based on the feedback we received from many of our employers earlier in the year, where it was highlighted that there was a definite need for more training providers across the whole of England. The purpose of these partnerships was to make training more accessible, flexible and affordable for our employers.

The International Foundation for Protection Officers is committed to the support and professional development of our members and all security officers, supervisors and managers. Through advocacy, promoting training standards, providing accessible training, education and certification opportunities, we seek to enhance their professional standing as well as increase the perception of the vital services they provide.
Membership is open to individual security practitioners, security organisations and corporate end users.
Our UK & I Advisory Board is drawn from across the sector with most of its members having experience on the frontline as security officers or in the police or military. Many of the AB also hold leadership roles with other industry associations.
